Sunelle Asmussen | Connections
Sunelle is a Clinical Social Worker and a BCIA-International Board-Certified Neurofeedback and QEEG-D Practitioner. Sunelle is registered with the Australian and USA Board of Biofeedback to provide neurofeedback mentoring. She has been working with children and families over the past 20 years and has practiced in South Africa, the UK, and now Australia. Sunelle is fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
The Connections clinic is located in Nerang, on the Gold Coast, Australia, and offers a unique, relaxed, non-clinical setting to support a sense of wellbeing. Prior to starting private practice, Sunelle worked with Queensland Health for 10 years, providing a specialist Mental Health Service to children and families with a primary focus on trauma, attachment, grief and loss, and development. Sunelle is a systemic therapist that values a holistic approach to wellbeing, and collaborates with families and other professionals to support her patients.
In addition to her above qualifications, Sunelle completed her Masters in Gestalt Play Therapy, and studied a variety of other play therapy modalities over the past 20 years, as well as advanced certifications in Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Mentalisation-Based Therapy.
Sunelle is also a registered Paediatric Massage Consultant and Trauma-Informed Kids Yoga Teacher. Due to her special interest in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Services, she completed the Australian Psychological Society’s Non-Directive Perinatal Counselling training and is registered with Medicare to provide a Perinatal Service.
Sunelle is a registered Medicare and NDIS Service Provider.
